I am a minimalist. I have been my whole life, but when I had my first kid I really started taking it seriously. Kids come with SO MUCH STUFF! I found myself feeling the need to minimize my things even more, so I could make room for the kid’s things. I discovered capsule wardrobes and my life was changed.
A capsule wardrobe is a specific set of a few clothes that all match each other. A capsule wardrobe could have 5 t-shirts, 2 pairs of pants, 3 sweaters, and a dress that are all neutral colors and can be mixed and matched. It takes the guessing out of “what will I wear today” and the clutter out of your closet. But creating a capsule wardrobe can be daunting. Especially if you like to mix things up and like options.
When I heard about Ecolove I got excited! They design clothing that can be manipulated into different styles. For example, I was sent a cardigan that can be worn SEVEN different ways!! Seven!! And a regular everyday t-shirt that can turn into five different shirts including a tank top! What more could you want! Not only does this free up your closet space, but it also saves you money. Instead of buying 5 different shirts, you buy one. This decreases your carbon footprint and keeps your money in the bank.
I opened up my package and the first thing I noticed was how soft the fabric was! It’s made of the softest tencel, cotton, and spandex you have ever felt! It’s also pre-shrunk so you can throw it in the dryer and not worry about hang drying it.
Another thing that stood out to me was the colors of the fabrics. Some of the pieces I received are tie-dyed. But not in that annoying, bright, in your face 90’s neon pattern. They were a subtle, beautiful, almost thought out pattern that flowed as the fabric accentuated your body.
All of their pieces are carefully designed and created in a deliberate way to help you, and the planet, look and feel better.
