Ethically-sourced products can be hard to come by these days. In our consumerist world, businesses are often designed to drive bigger and bigger profits, which tends to happen at the expense of people and the planet. This practice has significant negative impacts on our world and the people in it.
Though I understood this from a young age, I continued to purchase from large, name brand companies. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to purchase from smaller, more socially-conscious businesses, but rather that I simply didn’t know about them. Many of these brands lack the expensive marketing and production budgets of their bigger competitors, and struggle to make themselves known in the incredibly competitive world of e-commerce.
Thankfully, there is now a brand that will do the investigative work for us. Each product will have a purpose and an impact beyond its obvious, immediate value. For example, the packet of tea might support a local food bank, the scarf might be made of recycled materials by members of a women’s cooperative, the salt might be hand-harvested from pristine Canadian waters, supporting the local ecology and economy.
All of the products are extremely high quality, are made with great care and attention to detail, and have a vibrant story behind them.
