Faced with a debilitating and unknown illness, and at the point where she could no longer get up and go to work, entrepreneur Shelby Capps knew she had to make some hard decisions. While it broke her heart to leave a job, customers, and coworkers that she loved; Shelby knew that she would need a career that she could do on her own time, and in her own space. With this knowledge, she and her husband Michael began researching jobs that could be done from home. After dabbling in candle making, she realized that this was definitely not her passion. Thankfully, Shelby soon stumbled across a soap making video on YouTube. She fell in love with the process and was hooked! And so, Redolent Bath and Body Co. was born.
Shelby knew that she wanted to create fabulous, all-natural, vegan, and cruelty-free products that would put a smile on the face of every customer, friend, and family member that received them. She succeeded! Let me tell you; when my package arrived from this company, I could smell the incredible aromas through the packaging. I closed my eyes, inhaled, and felt like I was at the spa and in for a treat. Not even my teenager being a teenager could wipe the smile off my face as I headed off to the bath.
Not only are the soaps beautifully designed, but the Lavender CBD bath salts are out of this world! In a word, Redolent Bath and Body Co. products are stunning. The soaps are cold processed and handmade, and are also elegant and smell incredible. I received the Coffee Bean and the Grapefruit Lemongrass. They suds up nicely and rinse clean, leaving your skin feeling fresh without drying it out. The bath salts have real flowers (rose petals with jasmine and lavender buds) that float in your bath beautifully, and pair perfectly with the Himilayan Pink Sea Salt, herbs, and CBD. It is a visual and sensory experience that I highly recommend! I could feel the tension leaving my body as I soaked, breathing deeply the soothing scent of lavender and flowers.
Shelby believes that the hemp plant is one of the most powerful plants on the planet, which is why she began incorporating CBD into her products (she also creates non-CBD products). In her own words, “CBD is an amazing thing. It has been clinically proven to be antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory. It’s known to help with skin conditions when used topically. It can also help with eczema, psoriasis, inflammation, acne, dermatitis, and rosacea.” CBD (cannabidiol) is a naturally occurring substance derived from the Cannabis sativa plant. Unlike THC (the major active ingredient in marijuana), CBD is not psychoactive. Hemp contains a much higher percentage of CBD than its cousin marijuana, with much lower levels of THC (less than 0.3%). The CBD isolate that Shelby uses in her products is the finest form of CBD, and contains no THC.
