- What is the significance of vegan based skincare products?

- What are the differences within the experience of vegan skin care products and large named brand skincare products?
As for Urthmos, being a vegan skin care, all our products have an ingredients base of Traditional Chinese Medicine root plants, Ayurvedic herbs, and Amazonian plants. All of our ingredients are of the highest quality and fair-trade from around the world and are harvested in a way to protect the Earth, the plants, and the communities they come from. I’m not sure many if any large named skincare product lines can say the same.
- What caused the onset of Urthmos for you? Can you recall the season?
Urthmos was created from a need. I noticed as I was, what I’d like to call “Aging Gracefully”, my skincare needs were changing, and I knew I wasn’t the only one. Because I have always had sensitive skin, I needed to accommodate that as well. My other motivation was my kids and grandkids. My grandkids were experiencing eczema and I was determined to find a plant based solution. I’m grateful I did.
- What has your experience been with Chinese herbs before starting this business?
I have been formulating vegan organic skincare for about 15 years. I began researching and studying the power of Chinese herbs, Ayurvedic herbs and other unique plants about 4 years before starting Urthmos. I was fascinated with the fact that all the remedies from thousands of years ago are still very effective today. From Chinese herbs, to Ayurvedic herbs, to Amazonian plants, and worldwide. There are tribes and villages in cultures around the world to this day, who are still practicing and using the gifts from mother nature, our earth, to care for and heal their people…which still works.
- What can customers expect concerning the shelf life of Urthmos products?
You will not have to refrigerate our products. Urthmos products have a wonderful shelf life of up to 1 1/2 -2 years when stored properly. I have found natural organic plant-based preservatives that not only protect my products from molds, bacterias, and such, but also cater to sensitive skin and offer natural restorative benefits.
