Green Stinger Trading was founded in 2019 by urban beekeepers in NYC. Their focus is to promote a sustainable lifestyle using eco friendly products and practices, and of course, they care a lot about bees!
Their beeswax food wraps are an eco-friendly alternative to plastic wrap. Made with cotton sheets, beeswax, jojoba oil and tree resin, their wrap will stick to itself and melt with the heat of your hands to keep its hold around any bowl or storage container. They are 100% natural, non-toxic, recyclable, and biodegradable.
The Beeswax Wraps are also breathable. This prolongs the shelf life of fresh fruits and vegetables while protecting your food from germs, mold, and other pests.
You can easily wash them with some mild soap and cold water. The wraps become firm and rigid in the cold water which makes it very easy to clean off any dirt or food. Then you just let them air dry and they are ready for another use!
They arrive extra tacky and will remain so for several washes. Even as they become less tacky over time, the beeswax will still hold in place with the help of the heat from your hands. Beeswax Wraps typically last over a year of regular use and are even compostable when you decide to replace them.
I received their 6 pack in the mail. It came in packaging made from 100% recycled paper and biodegradable cellulose, and listed the materials used for making the wraps, as well as instructions for use right there on the outside.
This pack includes two of each size wrap which are 7”x8”, 10”x11”, and 13”x14”. The smallest looks to be about the size of a napkin, medium seems to be paper towel size, and the largest is just about as big as a box of frozen pizza! It’s impressively large. (I thought you other mamas out there might appreciate a visual of just about how big they are before having to take out your measuring tape!)
The sizes in this pack are the absolute perfect variety. They cover everything!
They are wonderfully thin, which I believe makes them even more capable of molding onto whatever shape you are using them for. The fact that they stick to themselves is a lifesaver! I always cut costs at the store by purchasing the cheapest cling wrap possible, and we all know that stuff does NOT stick to itself!! I am able to wrap my husband’s work sandwiches in just one wrap and fold it over on itself and I’m done! No other container needed. Game. Changer.

Swarming Honey Bees are a great and healthy thing. Swarming is how Honey Bees create new hives and how they create new Queens. It is actually how the Honey Bees Superorganism reproduces! Swarming also helps reduce the pest population in hives and generates new, clean, healthy beeswax for the bees to use.
To protect the bees, they simply “shake” them into a box and transport them away. It is a slow process as they work with the bees, not against them. Once they know the Queen Bee is inside their box, they patiently wait for the rest of the bees to follow her. Typically this might take up until sunset. Then they seal the box and transport it to a new home. Amazing right??
